About Me
This blog doesn’t have an about me, not that that matters. But I feel that I should at least introduce myself. I am a Christian, an amateur apologist, and someone that cares about truth and people. I was an electrical engineer but now a computer programmer and systems engineer.
I started my original blog quite a few years ago when Yahoo 360 was still around. I guess that dates me a little. It was limited but for some reason I really liked it, even though it kind of silo'ed my blog within Yahoo. I met some wonderful people through it.
I have to say that the two most influential people in my Christian life are John MacArthur and Keith Green. Keith Green died in an airplane accident in 1982 but for the first 3 1/2 yrs as a new Christian, it was Keith and the Last Days Ministries that had the most profound impact on my life. His music was superb and cutting. You couldn't listen to it and not be uplifted or convicted, because the focus was to build up believers in their faith, to become the body of Christ. Mainstream Christianity either loved him or hated him. He never called anyone to a denomination, he called people to Jesus. A lot like Billy Graham in that respect but for a new generation of believers. He was a very bright flame but for a very short time.
The next most influential person is John MacArthur. Again, you either love him or hate him because he has a totally uncompromising message. His Bible teaching based sermons are some of the very best you will ever listen to, you just have to get over your biases because he is not afraid to confront sin or some of our unbiblical beliefs. Years ago he helped my wife and I make a very difficult and painful decision to leave a church where most of our friends attended. In some ways it left us alone with some of our friends believing all sorts things about us. Making a stand for truth isn't always easy, and it certainly isn't fun. But as Christians we cannot compromise when it comes to truth, something that Keith Green taught us.
Lately I’ve been going through a bit of a renaissance, as I’ve begun to return to more important things in life, which leads me back to my blog, something I started a long time ago. For too long I’ve allowed myself to be distracted from the things that really matter. As I returned to my roots and this blog, I hope to share a little hard earned wisdom, some church history, apologetics but most importantly, Jesus. I have long since lost the ability to get into my old Google blog site where I preserved most of my old 360 blogs. So I'm beginning a new one, again. I don’t expect that many will ever read this, but if one person does and finds these posts helpful in some way, then it will have been worth the effort I will be putting into it.
This was my old blog.
Time to begin anew.
Keep loving people, listening to their hearts and humbly bring them closer to Jesus!😇
